Job Description & Primary Responsibilities:
Poultry Production Managers work in a variety of settings within agriculture, including animal production, seed and chemical production, and the food sector. They are responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities as they relate to the successful production of the product the company produces.
Responsibilities: Poultry Production Managers are responsible for preparing and administering work orders, scheduling production crew assignments, ensuring work orders are completed on time and within budget, ensuring production crew is trained on proper use and handling of chemicals, interviewing, hiring, evaluating performance and administer disciplinary actions, overseeing employee and food safety programs, ensuring achievement of productivity and efficiency, conferring with management personnel to establish quality control standards, planning and directing processing activities, establishing processing priorities for products, coordinating processing activities with procurement and maintenance, and consulting with engineering personnel relative to the modification of machines.
