Job Description & Primary Responsibilities:
Nursery Managers run a greenhouse or nursery. Depending upon the structure of the business, you may work with the public or in a business-to-business arrangement. Greenhouses can be used for commercial plant purposes or in food production. Managers must be knowledgeable about the stages of plant life and diseases that may occur.
Responsibilities: Nursery Managers are responsible for overseeing plant inventory, planning when to plant each species, supervising greenhouse workers, harvesting plants, recommending fertilizers and potting mediums, managing greenhouse equipment and computer controls, maintaining breeding records, forecasting demand to determine plant populations, and ensuring that operation is in line with environmental regulations.

Education/Training:
Associate's Degree in Horticulture
Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture recommended
