Job Description & Primary Responsibilities:
Agricultural Loan Officers work to help farmers and rural citizens obtain funds needed to fund their operation, purchase property, and more. They explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services. Additionally, they combine agricultural and business knowledge with an understanding of each customer's current financial position in order to provide workable alternatives to solve problems. Responsibilities: Agricultural Loan Officers are responsible for seeking lending relationships with existing customers, actively calling on prospective borrowers, explaining to customers the different types of credit information, approving loan structures pricing and conditions on loan transactions, ensuring all files are maintained in a secure environment, evaluating the risk in loan transactions and assigning a probability of default, managing and growing existing loan portfolios, and preparing credit analysis on assigned portfolios directly or through the use of a credit analyst.
