Job DescripTION and Primary ResponSIBILITIES:
The Head Sawyer operates the head saw. They position logs and monitor the performance of scanners to maximize production from each log while maintaining a minimum open face.
Responsibilities: Head Sawyers perform maintenance checks and services and assists in maintenance repairs. They also position the logs onto carriage to maximize grade yield, and clear carriage tracks and scanner bar of debris. Finally, they must monitor the saw performance and make changes as needed.
