​JOB DESCRIPTION & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Farriers manage the care and maintenance of horse hooves and shoes. The position can entail building, welding, and installing horseshoes, as well as hoof trimming and care.

Responsibilities: ​Farrier work includes a combination of technical/mechanical, animal welfare, and customer service skills. Farriers often work with welding techniques to create a shoe that is custom fit to the horse's foot and needs. Cleaning and hoof trimming is an integral part of attaching a shoe, as is the ability to recognize and care for minor injuries.
