They examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, and examine raw woodstock for defects and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standards. Baseball bat manufacturers also manage inventory of products and materials to fill orders. Additionally, they communicate with customers based on design features and meet specifications for the customer.
